ZooMumba has a twitter account which it uses to tweet about updates in the game, and to communicate with players about their game experiences. Their account is @ZooMumba . Followers can ask questions and will receive up-to-the-minute news about the game.
As an incentive for players to follow ZooMumba on Twitter, ZooMumba has created a special decoration which is winnable exclusively through Twitter. The decoration is a birdhouse with animated bluebirds called the tweethouse, a reference to twitter's bluebird logo. Players can enter a weekly tombola (otherwise known as a drawing or raffle) by retweeting a message posted by @ZooMumba for a chance to win the tweethouse. After a week, the winners are announced via tweets, and winning players have 24 hours to send their ZooMumba Account IDs via direct message to @ZooMumba to claim their prize.
ZooMumba has a facebook account which can be found at www.facebook.com/zoomumba. Players can post wall comments, including screenshots of their zoos and learn about game news via the facebook page.
During the holiday season in 2011, an advent calendar event was created. Once a day, a prize-giving bonus code was either tweeted on twitter, posted in the game's forums, or posted on facebook.
